Leading The Delegation, President Of Ikeja Lions Club, Lion Ebenezer Olorunfemi, Said The Gesture Reflects The Club’s Commitment To Humanity. “The Theme Of World Humanitarian Day Reminds Us Of The Urgent Need To Confront Global Challenges With Compassion. This Donation Represents Our Dedication To Easing The Plight Of The Less Privileged And Staying True To The Spirit Of Service,” He Said. He Further Noted That The Club’s Projects Embody Dedication, Compassion, And Recognition For Society’s Most Vulnerable, While Expressing Gratitude To LASUTH For The Opportunity To Collaborate.
Receiving The Donation On Behalf Of LASUTH Was The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, Who Expressed Delight And Appreciation To The Lions Club For Their Sustained Contributions. “The Welfare Of Vulnerable Patients Has Always Been A Priority For The Lions Club, And This Donation Will Be Put To Judicious Use For The Benefit Of Mankind,” He Assured.
Prof. Fabamwo Recalled Past Contributions By The Lions Club, Including The Transformation Of A Ward Into An Amenity Ward That Became The Critical Care Unit, Renovations Of The Eye Clinic, And The Donation Of Essential Medical Equipment. He Also Highlighted The Contributions To LASUTH’s Oncology Building, Diabetes Clinic, And A Dedicated Section Of The Pediatrics Ward.
The CMD Emphasized LASUTH’s Mandate Of Providing Advanced Tertiary Services That Remain Accessible And Affordable To The Public, While Commending The Lagos State Government Under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu For Its Role In Making Quality Healthcare Available To Citizens. He Added That In The Past Five Years, Strategic Partnerships Have Brought Significant Growth, Including The Multipurpose Building And The Pediatric Sickle Cell Centre, Supported By Sustainable Development Goals Abuja.
In His Remarks, Barrister Duze Nga, The Managing Counsel Of The Kenna Foundation, Explained The Foundation’s Vision. “Our Vision Is To Expand Access To Justice In Nigeria By Facilitating Pro-bono Legal Aid And Advocacy For Marginalized Communities, Survivors Of Abuse, Victims Of Police Brutality, Widows, And Those Awaiting Trial,” He Said.
Barrister Nga Added That The Foundation Funds And Supports Legal Representation For Those Unable To Afford It While Also Driving Advocacy And Social Justice Initiatives With Broad Social And Economic Impact.
