The Chief Medical Director Of LASUTH Was Honoured With The Prestigious Anti-corruption Award In Recognition Of His Exemplary Commitment To Transparency And Accountability By The Fight Against Corruption Organization (FACO) On Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025. The Chairman Of FACO, Dr. Francis Shopekan, Accompanied By His Team, Paid An Official Courtesy Visit To The CMD And The Management Of LASUTH To Honour Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo. In His Introductory Remarks, Dr. Francis Elucidated That FACO Is Primarily Dedicated To Fostering Transparency And Ethical Leadership By Acknowledging Individuals In Public Service Who Exemplify Integrity And Accountability Through The Conferral Of Leadership Awards. He Further Explained That FACO Operates As A Civil Society Or Quasi-advocacy Organization, Committed To Recognizing High-integrity Public Officials And Raising Awareness Regarding Corruption, Distinguishing Itself From Formal Anti-graft Agencies Such As The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) And The Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Which Possess Statutory Authority To Investigate And Prosecute Corruption. Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, The Chief Medical Director Of LASUTH, Conveyed His Appreciation To The Members Of FACO And The Chairman For The Honor, As Well As For The Commendable Efforts That FACO Is Undertaking In The Relentless Struggle Against Corruption In Nigeria. He Took Pride In The Advancements Achieved By LASUTH And Expressed His Contentment With The High Standard Of Care Provided To Patients, Ensuring They Receive Exemplary Healthcare Services. “The Award I Have Received Would Not Have Materialized Without The Support Of My Formidable Management Team; I Therefore Dedicate It To All Members Of The Top Management Committee,” He Stated. Moreover, The CMD Emphasized That The Hospital Administration Vehemently Opposes Any Manifestations Of Corruption Within The Hospital Premises And Confirmed That Severe Penalties Are Imposed On Individuals Found Engaging In Such Misconduct. He Highlighted The Significant Transformation Of The Hospital In Terms Of Infrastructure, Clinical Services, And Educational Initiatives. He Also Acknowledged LASUTH’s Provision Of Advanced Tertiary Care And Expressed His Gratitude To The Lagos State Government, Specifically To Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, For His Steadfast Support Of LASUTH. Looking Ahead, He Articulated That The Management Team Has Numerous Plans To Enhance The Services Offered While Also Striving To Maintain Affordable Fees. In Attendance At The Event Were The Director Of Clinical Services And Training, Prof. Adebowale O.
