The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Received A Donation Of Medical Equipment From The Ladies Section Of Ikeja Golf Club, GRA, As Part Of The Club's Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative Aimed At Supporting Quality Healthcare Delivery, On Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Speaking On Behalf Of The Ladies Section Of Ikeja Golf Club, GRA, The Vice Captain, Otunba Modupe Oyeduntan, Explained That After The Success Of Previous Outreach Initiatives, Members Unanimously Resolved To Support A Healthcare Institution By Donating Medical Equipment And Selected LASUTH Because Of Its Reputation For Excellence And The Critical Role It Plays In Providing Specialist Healthcare Services.
"We Are Delighted That This Vision Has Become A Reality. Despite The Challenges We Encountered In Sourcing Equipment, We Remained Focused On Making A Meaningful Contribution To Healthcare Delivery. We Hope These Items Will Support The Hospital In Providing Quality Care, Especially For Children And Other Vulnerable Patients", She Said.
Receiving The Items On Behalf Of The Hospital Management, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, The Chief Medical Director, Expressed Profound Appreciation To The Ladies' Section For The Generous Gesture, Describing The Donation As Timely And Impactful.
He Noted That The Equipment Would Significantly Enhance Patient Care, Particularly In The Paediatrics Department, While Stressing That LASUTH Remains Committed To Ensuring That Children Continue To Receive Quality Healthcare Inspite Prevailing Financial Challenges.
According To The CMD, LASUTH Has, Over The Years, Sustained Subsidised Healthcare Services For Children And Remains Committed To Easing The Financial Burden On Families By Maintaining Reduced Charges For Many Paediatric Services.
He Further Highlighted LASUTH's Position As One Of Nigeria's Foremost Tertiary Health Institutions, Providing Highly Specialised Services Including Open Heart Surgery, Kidney Transplantation, In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), And Advanced Cardiac Care Through Its Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Amongst Others.
He Noted That While The Lagos State Government Continues To Invest Significantly In Healthcare, Many Ongoing Infrastructure Projects Within The Hospital Have Also Been Made Possible Through The Support Of Corporate Organisations, Philanthropic Groups, And Well-meaning Individuals.
In Appreciation Of The Club's Generosity, Prof. Fabamwo Announced That The Ladies Section Of Ikeja Golf Club, GRA, Would Be Included In The Hospital's Honours Roll In Recognition Of Its Contribution To Healthcare Delivery At LASUTH.
The Equipment Presented To The Hospital Included, A Patient Monitor And Stand, Infusion Pump, Syringe Pump, Suction Machine, Baby Incubator, X-ray Viewing Box, And Blood & Infusion Warmer.
